Pepperdine plays Missouri at 1:00 p.m. today in the finals of the Malibu Regional. The winner advances to the Super Regional next weekend against Cal State Fullerton.
UCLA won't be needing Jackie Robinson Stadium this week after all. Mizzou defeated the Bruins, 2-1, in yesterday's first game to eliminate UCLA from the NCAA tournament. (Malibu plays Pacific Palisades tomorrow at Malibu High in spite of the sudden availability of Jackie Robinson Stadium.)
Monrovia defeated Saint Bonaventure, 3-1, on Friday to claim the Division V CIF Southern Section championship. Two Frontier League teams--Nordhoff and Oaks Christian--advanced to the quarterfinals before being knocked out.
